The Judith Miller Band
Your Saturday Live Music performance is by Judith Miller!
The Judith Miller Band(JMB) is a jazz trio that features the vocal talents of Judith Miller, a native Texan and an avid disciple of Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Bassey,, Claire Martin, Bonnie Raitt and Diane Krall. Her eclectic blend of jazz, blues, spirituals, country, pop and improvisational style and range make her comfortable with Jazz from BeBop to Swing to soulful Ballads. JMB is in the “Top 5″ in local jazz on this site since 1998 and was number 1 for 15 consecutive months. Judith was honored and awarded by Indie Music Channel-Hollywood in 2013 as “Best Jazz Artist” and “Best Jazz Producer.” Her original music, featured here, is played and featured on Indie Music Radio, Jango Radio, ZZAJ and Austin Jazz Alliance Radio. Judith has produced several CD’s over the last 20 years with Jim Erickson and Russ Harrison, but began writing original lyrics and music to participate in the SXSW Festival and since 2009 has produced 3 complete albums and 1 single releases, “I Am What I Am”, “Christmas Time”(single) , “Lets Have Fun, Baby” and “On the Road to Temple”.
JMB has used a variety of musicians since the passing of Jim Erickson, but most recently found an amazing piano player and vocalist who has become part of JMB. We are pleased to welcome Joe Gee as our piano player in the Trio and have included one of his original tunes, StarBright, from his recent release “Gee, Joe” on our most recent Demo recording. Russ Harrison continues to keep that fretless bass line running through our music and for percussion we’ve added Chris Bennett on drums. JMB continues to perform in clubs, homes, benefits, restaurants and festivals throughout Central Texas . JMB has an original repertoire, but plays standards that include selections from Antonio Carlos Jobim, Rodgers & Hart, Michael Franks, Dave Frishberg, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington,Count Basie, the Beatles and countless other composers.
